After a recent trackday at Cadwell I have decided to change the set up to my MNR Vortx Fireblade 919 BEC.
The current steering column has a snap-off assembly with paddle shifters.
The steering wheel has too much play from the snap-off boss (as a result of the paddle shifters I think) and is too far away from me.
The paddle shifts are not positive enough - there were times going up and down the gears where I couldn't select a gear and sometimes took a few
moments to sort out - not good when on track!
I am going to a stick assembly as I think this will create a more positive gear change (rather than using fingers).
Where is the best place to get a sierra column (and boss kit) and what should I except to pay?
What gear linkages and shifters would you recommend for a stick assembly? Also are there any adjustments I should look at in terms of the cable
running from the gearbox?
Thanks.
Are you a hex or splined removable wheel? Hex removable sections have play in them, the expensive splined ones shouldn't have any play.
It's a race tech one and pretty sure it's splined.
Not overly confident with the column tbh - it was only braised together :-o
