Can you get your hand under your wheel?
MikeR - 5/8/10 at 11:01 AM

Might seem a simple question - with your foot on the brake pedal, can you turn the wheel past 6 o'clock?

Ie can you get your hand around the wheel when you've got your foot on the brake pedal?

I'm paranoid i can't and having just driven the tin-top i can only just do it on that. Just wanted some people to say if they could / couldn't.

Yes. I've got height adjustment on mine and I can still do it (just) with it at the lowest setting.

Have you got a Sierra bus wheel on or an after market small one?

aftermarket 11" job - repositioning the wheel (again as i wasn't happy last time) and want to get it right.

why are you concerned? its not even a good driving style

its terrible driving style but .......... if for some reason i'm cornering and decide i need to brake i'd like to be able to hit the brake pedal.

(or if i'm braking and decide to lift off braking a little so i could steer - i'd like to be able to steer)

Why do you need this in normal driving?

I can just on mine but to be fair my knees dont move much when im driving the locost. My tin top i can but i palm the wheel in that.

Why is it not good driving style? One of the reasons I spaced my steering wheel out was becuse my hands would get a bit too close to my legs when steering.

If your legs get in the way of steering input then it's not quite right IMO.
