removing front hub nuts?
-matt - 7/8/10 at 09:36 AM

im trying to remove the hub nuts of my sierra hub/uprights.

am i correct that the drivers side (yellow nut) is is right hand thread, and the passenger side (blue nut) is left hand thread?

as i have been trying both but cannot get them to budge, the hub is just spinning in the vice.

so any ideas?

cheers

Put a bar through the studs to wedge it
Put nuts on the studs to stop damage to the threads

open the vice wide and drop the studs in, you wont damage them and the hub cant spin then. then use a big bar or ratchet with a tube to undo.

Cant remeber if one is LHT but would guess it is as they use the same method on the rear.

thanks

i have done it.

after realising that the hub wasn't going around anymore, i was doing i the wrong way.

the drivers side is left hand thread. and the passenger side is right hand, which is the opposite to the rears.
