hi all,

has been quite a wile since iv been on the forum, but i was having a little think last night after comeing home from a little drive over to mallery park yeaterday to watch the VSCC racing and i was wonding is there any reason.... if you got a bike engine gearbox output dead inline with the diff input flange you could not use a 1 peice prop, the only thought that pops into my head is that it would be very long... is there for example a max distance between suports on a prop shaft?

Most BEC's use a TRT prop'. This is basically two tubes, one inside the other, bonded together with rubber in order to damp vibration. It's usually in one end of a 2 peice prop'. I'd guess they don't do full length prop's like that either because of the weight or cost.

the extra length would make vibrations exponentially worse, so you would need a much bigger shaft if it was in one piece.
