as per the title, I have sierra rear diff in my build, and struggling to get my hands on a propshaft
however the 4x4 front ones are cheap enough on ebay and people are prepared to post them as they are much shorter
BUT will it bolt to my rear diff? 4 bolt holes with a ridge/ring running round the middle to locate it
I only need 18" or so of tube
thanks

IIRC the front diff has a smaller diameter input flange.
Steve
ok thanks, well at least thats saved me £30
back to the drawing board, looks like buying whatever propshaft comes up and making some mounting adaptors for either end
Definately a smaller flange on the front diff. If the 4x4 front prop is the correct length you could just get yourself the cossie/2 litre dohc XR4x4 version which is a 'normal' tubular prop rather than the narrow solid bar version of the V6 XR4x4. This has rebuildable joints so you could just change the end yokes for ones that fit your diff/gearbox and job done. If the length isn't right and you have to chop and change anyway, you'd be better off getting a rear prop and shortening that.
i would just get a prop shaft made by a prop manufacturer
ok thanks, I dont need to have one made as thats well out of my budget and against my principles, I have lathe, mill and welding facilities etc. why
pay someone else to do something that you can do yourself.
just locating a rear propshaft thats the problem at the moment, people asking £40 to ship it are just taking the mick
will see what comes up in local papers etc and just have to wait.
