I just got a really mint complete propshaft from a landrover for £4.70 and if all else fails I will have to cut that up and make adaptors for the end.

Should do, I know a mk2 escort prop does as I used one for a template.

When ordering a prop for my capri axle I was told there are two sizes of flange.

Seeing as a broken prop shaft could take your life if not give you a very nasty taste in your mouth and/or goolies going to a prop shaft specialist and getting one made up with whichever ends you need makes sense and dont cost that much.

sadly £200+ is a lto more than I can justify.

I have always made my own, but never had a problem getting propshafts as I always used reliant axles in the past, so had good supply of them, however since theres no car breakers in my area, and most of the ones I have found on ebay for sierra's are collection only I am struggling a little

I have never had a prop break, and due to the layout of my build its not a major health concern like on the cars.

if I had any doubts about my work I wouldnt do it, shortened driveshafts and modified propshafts I am happy with, but just cant get the bits

problem being that none of the prop companies will probably be of much use anyway as its going from an internally splined joint from a shaft drive bike to the sierra axle.

oh well the hunt for a propshaft continues.

took different route home this evening to drop someone off and went past a house with couple of hotrod/bangers outside, one was a sierra

went and knocked on door, he had a prop laid in front garden, and gave it to me to get it out of his way

happy bunny I am, tomoro get on the lathe and start turning down some bar stock to adapt the 2 props together
