Tyres and pennies

I am looking for some 195 45 15 tyres for my f27 track day car that I am building and wondered what people would recomend? Cost is a major factor at this stage. Given how much spare cash I have at the mo, the real budget ones are an option - although Nankang for example get some rubbish reviews. Part worn are also an option. I suppose I need to factor in the cost of fitting and balancing which could also lead to a false economy. I have experienced a few cases of 'buy cheap buy twice' on the project so far, but I definitly like doing things locost!
Any recomendations? Thanks as always for your thoughts.
Matt

Goodyear Eagle F1 or Toyo T1-R / T1-S have been as cheap as £30 per corner in either 195/45-15 or 195/50-15 in the past.

Check mytyres.co.uk

I would avoid part worns especially in this size when they are relatively cheap as its a very common size.

What sort of timescale are you on and do you have wheels already?

If you can bide your time and watch on eBay the best value can be had buying a set of wheels and tyres - OK the tyres might be part worn and the wheels might not be your first choice, but there are some real bargains to be had.

how much you pay for a tyre, that is what you get, pay cheap get shyte, i ones went cheap(£70 each tyre on 17"s good brand £140 each, had them put on the back) when i had an imprezza wrx and every time i try to pull out on a round about in the wet it just kept sliding everywhere unlike the good brand i had on b4(i cant remember which ones) griped like it was dry! since then i`ve never gonne cheap again!

hankook v12 evo is a very good tyre. There's a load of german reviews knocking about somewhere where it outperformed the toyos, goodyears, michelins etc...
also mega cheap!

linky here is a review not bad for £35 a tyre, they are best in hot weather conditions! you can type any other tyre in and it will give a review!

Another vote here for the
yoko parada 2's. I have 195/50/15's on mine
and they are a great tyre.
£150 for four corners,inc delivery.

Marangoni Zeta linea or Stunner Scudo, these are what the lads on the hillclimb/ sprinting scene are starting to use, been using the marangoni myself for the last couple of years, fantastic and cheap.

Awsome - thanks for all the inputs. The Toyo's at approx £30 would be awsome but cant see em around at the mo for that sort of money. I suppose its a case of keeping an eagle eye out for em. Thanks again.
