Quick Rod-Ends Question...
dan8400 - 13/10/10 at 06:25 AM

I've never used rod ends before, just wondered how you fit them. What I mean is, do i just put a bolt in the eye that is the right size? Or does it need to be sleeved or anything?

Obviously a noob question on the subject but just never used rod ends before

Thanks
Dan

Male or female?

I used them on my modified front wishbones and the eye of the rod end just has a bolt of the right size going through it., with spacers either side to locate it laterally.

Make sure you use a bolt and not set screw. threads will wear if you use the set screws and give movement.

Must not read posts before first mug of coffee! What Stu said
You can get accessories here
You must make sure that there is no lateral strain on the joint, especially on wishbones. The best way is to assemble fully one rod end into bracket, leaving the other supported only by the bolt(1/2" rod end needs 1/2"unf bolt) adjust suspension and then measure for spacers on the free one.
Hope that makes sense
