as above they have the e marks as well i got chance of some wheels and they have thers fitted just making the r888 are legal to use on the road first

Still legal as far as I am concerned because there has been no change in the law regarding tyre tread depth or amount of tread to surface ratio at this time.
There are moves to put legislation through EU but it will take time and individual countries can make some exceptions.

Not all 888's are road legal, only the GG compound i believe are, the ones marked sg are not and i don think the recent other compound they have introduced is road legal, as for marking i have never bothered to check if any of our sg's have road type markings

I drive on 888s all year round. Grip is good in the damp or on wet roads. IMO. Still better than most factory equipped tin tops. They don't do standing water though.

Agree - Most say they are not good in the wet..but I find unless it's standing water, they grip well...

r888 are road legal in all compounds,though i wouldn't recommend running sg's on the road there a sprint compound to run in list 1b road going class

I think that even if these end up being banned, you will still be able to use any tyres that you already have!

Time to stock up and put the tyres you buy in plastic bin liners to stop any UV damage. You could be using 888's years after everyone else!

are they any good for all year round tyers then im not saying in wet weather i will never go out in the wet but in the cold dry days off the winter are they any good



or would i b better off going for the T1R

Just stick with the 888's. They are great all rounders. As above, they aren't the best for standing water, but in my humble opinion, they are no worse than most tyres in standing water...

Tim and I did 3 hours at Mallory in torrid conditions and never bothered putting the wets on as there was so much grip from the 888's...

as i always point out, i drove mine in the snow without even getting any wheelspin last year.
