i'm buiding a busa turbo riot and considering longitudinal engine mounting (pics in archive). the engine/diff would only just fit with a freelander diff if the dax rush 'finger' system was used. there would be no propshaft and in order to have some sort of cush system i thought about resilient tubes in the halfshafts. any ideas welcome..
have you seen the fury Menace. (mid engined ace).
It wasn't that successful (not sure why), but it did what you are talking about.
Spire is similar.
Hi paul, I post here too, I'll get that diff out by thursday.
Is there not room to fit a sierra donut? Cushioned driveshafts shouldn't be a problem, just expensive.
The spire and menace have/had very short prop shafts so could get cushioning in there.
thanks for the advice guys. Austen, its a small world!
the freelander diff being shorter may allow for a donut but it would likely add 2 inches.
will look into menace and spire
