rear caliper troubles
Crazy Jay - 18/6/04 at 10:12 AM

Hey, i got cosworth and xr4x4 rear calipers but none of them will fit the adaptor plate that i got from GTS. Maybe i hav it wrong but are the calipers not supposed to bolt directly onto the plate?? Cause mine are about 15mm out. Cheers

would it not be a good idea to phone gts?

Sounds like a good idea

Sounds like you got rear setup for drums not discs...

Have you got the caliper to hub mounting bracket from the donor vehicle? The caliper usually mounts to an intermediate bracket via some sliding guides which are essential on a single piston caliper (assuming the 4x4 calipers are the same as my standard Sierra ones). The intermediate bracket then mounts to the hub carrier. I'd expect that the GTS brackets are designed to take the place of the hub carrier and thus you will still need the intermediate bracket.

Here is a photo of my intermediate brackets:

Hope this helps,
Craig.

...and here is a photo showing it all bolted together.

Cheers,
