anyone know whats the widest 13" road tyre available.... as i want to run 13x8 wheels on the back of my indy and want a road tyre to suit??

Try camskill.co.uk they list up to a 235 in 13". 215 and 225 are also available I think.

You have to look in the trackday tyres section for them. The tyres are road legal.

Are those kumho road legal or just a competition tyre

welderman - 28/1/11 at 08:49 PM

Kumho Ecsta V70A's are available in a 235 and that's the widest road legal 13" tyre you can get. They are available in soft compound...

as welderman says. they are available and road legel. and are supposed to be a brilliant tyre! the problem i had was finding a front tyre with a reasonable profile to match the mnr front uprights and wingstays

So say you use the 235 45 13 I would have to use a 185 on the front but what profile? As I se there only available in a 60 profile

speak to BMTR in Brum and they will give you the rolling radius of the tyre, or the revs per mile etc. This is far more accurate than using the traditional width & percentage.

Cheers guys

I've just bought 235/45 13's which are the widest road legal and 215/50 13's for the fronts as a matched pair. Ideally, I'd have liked 235 and 205 but they don't do them.

And they only do a soft compound not super soft...

they are to go on these wheels that were specially made for me

Why do you want to go so wide, are you running a big power engine?

Well the wheels I have order are 8 x 7 for the front and. 8x8.5 for the rear
These suit my slicks for racing hilclimbing etc but I have two sets of these wheels and I want a set for the road as well And I could use the road tyres as a set of wets .. U see where I coming from now

Wadders - 29/1/11 at 06:38 PM

I'm with you, but 205's will fit an 8.5" rim no problem, it just opens up your tyre choice a bit, IMHO anything wider is overkill unless you have mega HP. pic below is a 205 toyo 888 on a 13 x 8.5" rim
