Is it possible to get a LSD unit with a MK2 axel?

THere are various companies who do them (I think Quaife do, and a few others), I had a look on google the other day and found a few places.

I think there was also a 2nd hand one on ebay too. Try a search for "ford axle" or similar.

If you get a Salisbury type plate diff, make sure it's a later steel one as the older cast iron ones are rather failure prone.

Try the Lotus Cortina Centre, somewhere down SW. Devon, maybe?

There are lots of different prices for basically the same thing, so shop around.
Usual cost is around £395 - 450.

You definitely need a steel cased version in a 7 as the cast one will crack.

Make sure wherever you buy it from that they have your car weights, wheel size etc so they can get correct pre-load on plates. If not you will have a solid locked diff most of time as they are usually fitted to heavier cars.

Tran X do a nice plate LSD for English axle.

Quaife do a torque biasing diff which needs no setup but prices are steep.
