Hi guys,
My 106 has been knocking on right hand bends, but only when under power. Drive shaft me though, so empty wallet later and new drive shaft - still
knocking. The guy at the garage thought it would be the drive shaft as well, but did mention there is a little play in the lower suspension arm. Could
this be the knocking and is it just a case of a new bush type scenario, all be it a funny Pug garage only fitting job?
Cheers,
Pat....
If the pug is fairly old, there are curved brackets which hold the rear track control arm bush. The spot welds can break on these and usually give more of a cracking noise as you accellerate and decellerate
Cheers,
Will have a look when the bloody rain stops!

Do you want it to knock round left handers too I had the same problem on my 106 ('97 gti) and so did my mate on his saxo. Both happened at about 60,000 miles then about 10,000 miles later again on mine, but it did get some hammer!! It was the anti roll bar drop link. You can check it by turning some lock on the wheels then from behind, reach through the gap between wheel and wing and youll see a vertical rod about 12" long with a ball joint on each end. It will probably be the rubber around the bottom one which has split and the ball corroded. You can use a long screwdriver and prize against the bottom arm to lift the anti roll bar up. You should then see the slop in the link if it has worn. They are much cheaper from andrew page (bout £15) than the peugeot dealers but there a bit of a nightmare to undo if the ball starts spinning. Id reccomend an impact wrench if you have one. Hope you can understand this, its easy to check without buying the part first.
