2 steel plates needing cut with laser/plasma
Mr Whippy - 9/2/11 at 01:15 PM

Hi,

Trying to sort out the non fitting drum back plates and I think I am going to get some plates cut accurately with a zapper and then I'll cut out the center of the back plate and weld in these new parts

I have AutoCAD so can do a drawing (basically disk about 200mm in diameter with a big hole about 50mm in the center and 4 smaller holes around it) cut out of say 3mm mild steel

Could do it by hand but would rather get it cut accurately

Anyone help with this request???? Any info on line weight and colour codes for the cutter, also what side of the line does it cut, what format does you need the drawing in etc etc

Thank

Hello Whippy.

How are those office girls

The guy you want is andyw7de on here. Good work, the right price and rapid too.

Thanks for that

Work for another company now and things are grim

Best looking girl weighs about as much as my car...

Did we ever get any pics of the much discussed office hotties...? I don't recall seeing any.

Agreed - Bit like other recent threads we still need categorical proof else 'Whippies hotties' and 'MK cages' are allegedly both not 'fit' for purpose!

oh i'm sure whippy's hotties are fit for purpose ha ha! but you wouldn't tell anyone afterwards

General answer to drawing/file question.

Lineweights and colours are irrelevant.
Cutter cuts central on the line, any offsets to allow for cut width should be made in the drawing. (usually)
Usual format is dxf, no borders, no dimns, no extra lines and be sure are lines meet and don't overlap.

I think about covers it.

And be sure that is the right scale when you convert to DXF, or you end up with 1/10th scale Pedal Box and uprights like our Formula Student car did.... made nice keyrings though.
