I must be having a moment because I cant figure out how my front wilwood calipers are supposed to attach to my (sierra) upright.
Can someone confirm which way they are meant to go and where the spacers are meant to be?
This is first way I tried is:
wilwoods 1
(Notice the spacers location)... by doing it this way the disc seems to sit too far out and also rubs on the caliper. Disc is 270mm.
I then try with the spacers at different location:
wilwood 2
But now the disc sits further in to the car and again not central in the caliper.
What am I doing wrong? Plus I seem to have a number of 'spare' bolts and nuts left over. Are the socket-head bolts going into the mounting
bracket from the caliper supposed to be secured by a nut on the other side? the bolts i have supplied finish just inside the bracket itself.
The disc bells don't look deep enough on a Sierra hub.
Some Willwoods came with a simple Ally block which you drill to fit, my be you need a deeper block.
Yeah the discs look wrong to me too.
Here's mine mounted, bolted straight up simply.
If they are powerlites then you disc is wrong. Have you got the wilwood disc or a sierra solid one? The wilwood disc is 257mm. Where did you get all the bits from? I sell the powerlite kits sometimes on eBay. So give me a shout if you need any bits.
looks to me like you have put rear discs on the front
front discs have a much bigger offset than that
cheers folks. decided to browse the RD website last night and realised what I'd done.
does anyone know if there is a difference in the wilwoods calipers for a rear drum and rear disc replacement? realised I've ordered the kit for
sierra rear disc but I need the rear drum kit. If the calipers are the same then I could get away with just buying more discs rather than a whole new
kit at £400+
They'll be the same. Although i'm confused because your pictures are of the front not the back.
The Powerlite calipers are all the same, just brackets and discs differ.
The Rear Handbrake calipers are all the same, but not the same as the powerlites.
I think the only difference between the disc/drum kit is the drum one comes with the additional caliper mount holder.
Thanks Ben. The pics are of the front but I thought I'd ask about the back as I realised it was contributory to my problems. Have sent you a U2U re: bits.
