My brakes don't work!!!
pekwah1 - 28/4/11 at 06:34 PM

Hi Guys,

I got my last 2 brake lines in the post today so thought i should fill up the system!

However, only one of the resevoirs is pumping fluid.

As in the pic, only the 1st hole is getting fluid through, nothing coming out of the one at the end at all.
Should they both pump fluid out, or do i need to get the first line full of fluid before it will start putting fluid out of the 2nd?

I'm assuming they should both just work now, so any ideas of how i fix it?

Thanks,
Andy

It should come out both holes did you fill the tank sounds like the seals have a problem not sealing

Certainly looks like the M/C may be foobarred

Not sure on the answer Andy, but I have a spare Sierra M/C sat here at home in Pulborough you're welcome to try.

Sounds like the piston is stuck at full stroke ---- just a matter of cleaning, prime cylinder before fitting (use bleed nipples in port in ports to stop leaking.

ahhh, maybe i didn't prime it, that could be it.
the piston seems to be moving nice and freely.

What is the correct procedure for priming?

oh and pezza, failing all that i might have to take up your offer!
