Sierra rear hubs

I need to fit longer wheel studs into my rear hubs. Do I need to undo the 41mm A/F nut and then pull the drive flange off? Or do I pull the driveshaft out? If I need to undo the nut what is the best way - impact driver or breaker bar? Lastly (possibly most important) is the LHS a left hand thread? Any information will be very helpful - Haynes manual not very clear on this.

will they not knock through from the outside?

As above, but if you do not like 'banging' against a bearing, the hubs can be removed as you suggest.

The nearside is a left hand thread, and ideally you should use new nuts on re-assembly.

Very tight. Brakes on and a long breaker bar works well. Pressure pushing the car to the ground is best as
you could lift a kit in the air if you tried hard enough .

Removing the driveshafts complete is an option, as long as the shaft will pull through the rear uprights.
