Hey up guys well my nice new shiny handbrake cable arrived yesterday.Went to fit it last night and the ferrule at the end of the cable is too small for the hole in the brake back plate (cortina axle) is there a part which fits in between or is it the wrong cable.

This is the problem I suppose with mail order parts at least if you buy it over the counter you can see immediately that its the wrong bit.
My Haynes manual makes no reference and theres no pics to help.

there is a loose clip thingy that goes round the cable outer,could try a small hose clip to hold it in i spose
