Does anyone know what differences there are between a std mk2 Escort rack and an Escort Mexico rack?
Are the fixing points the same? Is it "quicker"? And most important, are the track rods longer?
Cheers
Its exactly the same if its a std rack the only difference is that it uses green RS track rod ends
Whats the difference with the green track rod ends? Are they longer?
Cheers
No, but I'm presuming that you want them to be?
Yes, I need more length!
Either the track rods, or the track rod ends, I'm not too bothered. A friend suggested group 4 track rod ends, but I can't find them
anywhere
Any ideas welcome.
Cheers
You could try using a Capri or Mk3, 4 or 5 rack as these are wider, or just extend the track rods by cutting them and using a decent wall thickness sleeve. Be sure that your welding is up to it though.
Hi Northy,
Have a look in my photo archive at wishbone assy or rack ext.
Is that what you need?

Type 907, I thought about doing it like that but here's my problem.
At the moment, with the wheels set to zero toe, there is nearly enough threads into the track rod ends, but would prefer a bit more. I'd like a
little toe out for SVA, which would be a little risky. If I put extensions on, I'd have to cut down the track rods, and would be back to not
enough threads into the extension (I think). Just had a thought though, I could cut a bit off the track rods aswell.
All suggestions welcome fellas, this ones worrying me a bit, I don't want it to dive off into a hedge one day!
BTW, I didn't think you could extend and weld steering components, thought it was an SVA fail.
Cheers
