Tried to search for stuff on this but can't find much.

I have a 2litre Pinto and a 3.92 rear diff and I'm about to buy a gearbox. If i get a standard ford type 9 5 speed:

a) will that fit the pinto
b) what ratio would be good to get. On a gearbox reconditioners site they offer 'ratios .82, 1.0, 1.37, 1.97, 3.65'
