Spoke to Gaz Shocks and they told me that they were made for WestField and supplied to them with out Springs

I' wanting to know the Spring rate and to find out if they are suitable for my locost with a Crossflow

Emailed Westfield and they will not disclose any infomation about their products

Hi

They will be 12" units with the extended top eye to give a 12 1/2" open length so will fit a book chassis perfectly ( Surprise surprise. )

Spring poundage wise you will be wanting 275Lb for good ride quality on the road and either 300 or 350Lb if using it more as a trackday car than road use. Make sure all the bushing is free and not binding as this can lead to problems selecting poundage if the bushes are masking the feel of the ride quality.

Cheers Matt

Edit. What poundage springs are fitted will depend on what Westfield had in stock on the day and whether they where from a cec of bec.

Thanks for that Matt

My best plan would be to get them tested for poundage
Any Idears where I can get them tested

Hi

I would say post em down and ill do em. BUT there is a spread sheet on this forum somewhere that will give you the poundage by measuring the wire Dia and free length. ( someone will put a link up I'm sure ) Although being from Westfield they will be around 10% down on the spread sheet figures due to there quality being not so great IE cheap. But take that into account and you'll be pretty close.

Cheers Matt
