Front Hubs setup

Hi
Any one know the correct procedure on setting the the toque on the front Hubs (Cortina Mk3/4/5)

I remember some has a torque setting then backed off 1 flat

Not sure

any one got a Hynes manual that can scan me the procedure.

For the hub nut, torque to 27lb ft then back of by 1/4 turn.

Forget torque and fixed amounts to back it off.

Tighten the nut (using pliers) then, with the wheel on, back it off untill you can JUST feel play in the bearing with hands at 12+6 o'clock. Pin it up at that.

PS. don't over pack the bearing and cap with grease. It needs space in there.

Adi normally knows best.

An exception might be when the bearings have just been fitted, as the initial torquing ensures everything is in snuggly.

I expect I am wrong as he does all this stuff for a living.
