I've really messed up with this one! Spent hours and hours refurbing a set of wheels only to find what i should have realised ages ago - the offset is wrong!

I'm using a GTS dedion axle with sierra running gear and GTS arches (29cm wide). The wheels i wanted to use were a set of lazer 13" alloys with an offset of 19mm.

It did cross my mind that the width may be an issue but i thought that i was using pretty narrow rubber (185's) it wouldn't be far out - i was wrong!

Gutted now because i was really chuffed with the wheels and don't really see any way to use them as im not prepared to go chopping the arches up.

Why not try to make some horseshoe shaped spacers out if marine plywood and place them between the arch and main body. it's been done before on here.

Cut the arches down the centre and widen them.

That is the only correct answer.

Fella I know fitted Barmby mag split rims to his Indy and thay're much wider than what was on there previously.
He widened the wheelarches (actually just used a bit of ally pop riveted in place) and it looks the nuts.

Makes me happy a little bit to see that it's not just me thats wastes endless hours on something only to realise its wrong.

I might then look through the Woolies stock for a suitable rubber trim

As above, i split my arches down the centre, widened them with an ally strip and pop rivets, then filled front and back with
bridging filler, sanded them down and then skimmed with normal filler and painted.

only other option is to find some wider arches, i think Dax might do some.

Not familiar with your kit, but it looks to me from the pics like you have the arches up against the chassis. Do you not have any bodywork (sides, rear tub) to fit between the chassis and the arches?

I had that problem, I just got bigger Tiger arches, about 13".

Thanks for all the input guys, been thinking about wider arched but im now settled on the idea of changing the wheels to something with ET38, should be enough to fix the problem.
