Hi Guys,
Ive just got my tyres put onto my wheels today, I was lookign forward to getting them fitted tonight.
however when I went to fit them the new wheels dont sit flush to the disk because part of the hub sticks through, so the wheel pushes against that
instead of the disk
im not sure what I can do
Wheels are 13" team dynamics - disks/caliper are wilwood power lites
any help appreciated as always
Mike

Your wheels are wrong then, the hub is supposed to stick through t
he disc. You may be able to get the inside of the wheels turned down so they fit,i had to do this with a lotus. You haven't got the plastic
spigot rings on the wheels have you?
Oh I might well have some plastic bits on the inside of the wheels
am i supposed to take these out?
woohooo
they fit now - yes im a retard
Thanks
Take them out and see if they fit. Make sure they are a fairly tight fit otherwise the weight of the car will be resting on the wheel bolts.

You're only 50% correct with that statement, the other bit is an urban myth.
You need to make sure they are a good fit or the wheel may not run true. The weight of the car is neither carried on the spigot or the studs it carried by the friction between the wheel and the hub created by the clamping force of the studs/bolts.

The Ford/Sierra hubs and wheels use the spigot, when fitting non Ford wheels with a different spigot diameter I bought plastic spigot adaptors, these fitted over the spigot but not the wheel as the wheel had a taper and the spigot did not, a quick turn in the lathe, job done.
