Any ideas on how to remove a wheel nut if you loose the locking nut, not on my car but a set of wheels i am looking to buy.

Cheers

Depending on the style hammer a normal bi-hex over the top, don't know why but 18mm is usually a good fit

My sister has this issue on her car, bought secondhand and no nut key. The bugbear is the nuts have a spinning outer sleeve, so the old socket and hammer trick won't work
I have heard of nuts being welded to the locking one, but always worried about damage to the wheels.

maybe I should try hammering a socket on, may pinch the outer sleeve tight enough.

There are plenty of removers on the net too, some not too expensive (but may be pants)

The outer spinning sleeve can normally be cut away then knock a socket on

Lump hammer and cold chisel normally works to remove the outer sleeve.
You can then remove the inner with a normal socket.
Outer's fooked but you are no worse off than when you started.
