tyre and rim width

do you really need wider wheels at the rear if running wider tyres?

for instance could i run 13x6 front and rear, 185 fronts and a 205 rear width? to aid with grip or do i really want to be running 7 or 8 at the rear for that?

Handling is generally best with the tyre at the narrow end of the suitable fitments range for the wheel's width.

A wide tyre on a relatively narrow rim rolls/squirms about a more.

Like he says. Generally 1" wider rim than tyre. Avon engineers are most helpful google them to get their agents phone no and give them a call.

Cheers!

205's on 6" rims for the rear whilst within the acceptable range are a bit to big, 7" would-be best
