Castle nuts on the bottom wishbone

I still have the castle nuts and split pins on my lower front wishbones , and the look quite tatty

Can i change them to normal lock nuts? as everthing else on the suspension is nylocked

If so whats the thread size on a maxi lower ball joint ?

I've used Nylocs on all of my suspension fasteners with no problems.

It may depend on the manufacturer! Wouldn't be the first time I've come across different threads on what is supposedly the same part. The best way would be to remove the nut and measure the thread

Hi,

I'd have said nyloc was fine...until I saw this video!

Given that the bottom joint is being pulled apart constantly by the corner weight I think a castle nut isn't a bad idea. Can't you just clean up the existing nut and fit a new pin?
