Sierra Driveshafts
ReMan - 16/8/04 at 09:44 PM

Just finished rebuilding driveshafts, LOBRO type, with new gaiter kit etc.
Marked the joints and shafts and put all the bits back in as they came out.
However I didn`t mark which end went to the diff and which end to the hub!
a) Can you tell?
b) Does it matter?

Cheers

It doesn't matter both ends are the same.

I would think it might matter only in that the shaft will have been subject to force in one direction, and if it is put in the other way round the force will be reversed which will "unwind" the previous force so the shaft may not last as long.

May not make a massive difference however, but if there are any markings you can align this would be best.

Nobody cares on Sierras so it won;t make much differeance on a locost..

As long as you dont swap them over in the process... it doesn't matter!

Otherwise you'd have an odd track
