hi everybody
im jsu trying to tidy up the engine bay in preperation for startin the engine
ive bought some plastic p clips from the local motor factors for the brake pipes
however they dont seem to actually hold on to the pipes
wat has everyone else used
cheers
ps. theres some new pics of the car in my archive
made some p clips from aluminium strip and used a small piece of plastic tube round the brake pipe in each one to stop any rubbing.
smaller clips?
bigger pipe
or cut some bicycle inner tube into strips to act as spacers/anti-chaff strips
The 3/16" 'P' clips I've used don't really fit my 3/16" brake pipe either.
Bob used PTFE (?) tape around his (that's the pink stuff in the pictures). I didn't bother- I've found that because of the bends in the
pipe it all ends up pretty rigid anyway!
Hope that helps,
James
You can get rubber lined "P" clips at most shows or suppliers on the web, come in a number of sizes and hold the pipe firm but without damage. Worth doing right for SVA.
send me your address and i will post a pack that work to you
cheers everyone
mangogroove u have u2u
I've heard of a few that have passed SVA with those on... I must agree with the rigidity aspect though. Doesn't look too good...
I used Peugeot brake pipe clips, only pennies each
