I want to change the wheels on my Midtec Spyder

The manual says they should be 20mm inset (I assume this means 20mm offset or neg offset)

The wheels that are on are E41, but look right for the car. If they were to stick out anymore they they would foul the arches.






so do i go for a set of front wheel drive ford wheels (35-45)?

Any Midtec Spyder owners on here?

Looking at your car I would say that ET35 would be about right, this would move the wheels out a fraction but it really looks as if that would look even better. Nice looking car by the way. HTH Ray

Aye up Jaffa. My mate Gaz has a set of 14" ford fit alloys c/w Toyos left over from selling his Fury. Will see if I can find out the offset and get you some photos if you like? I think they're pepperpots and painted black. I was going to use them as build wheels for my Haynes but owt'll do for that really

He's home tomorrow and will check the offsets for you. I think the Toyos are 195/45/15 but they may be past using, they'll need a good looking at to decide mate.

They're 5.5x14 ET41 with 195/45/14 Toyo T1-S on them all.

Hi there, do you still have your midtec?
I've been rebuilding mine with a Zetec Turbo.
I noticed that you seem to have a removable rear to yours, where does it mount? And where is your fuel tank?

The rear clam shell pivots off the very back rail with a small bracket.

It fastens to the rest of the shell with dzes fittings

Owning a Midtec is a bit like having an ugly child; someone has to love it!

I've just bought one of these beauties part built. Any advice from you owners? If you could send photos if how the clamshell rear is attached would be much appreciated as I'd like to go down that route. Cheers.
