Are all Cortina rear axles the same ?

If not, how do I know what model/year/variant my axle came from ?

Mk3's were imperial threads, Mk4&5's were metric, you can ignore casting numbers - the one on my capri axle said it was from a Mk1 Granada!, the casting number relates to the first use of that casting by Ford. Diff ratio's are your best bet, look them up in haynes.
