Hi, I have just replaced a ball joint on my Indy and now the cyclone wings sit un-evenly on either side so I'm guessing the alight is out?
Could somebody please tell me what I have to do to solve this?
Thanks
If you changed a top ball joint then you need to setup both the camber and toe-in.
Set camber first then toe
You need the car a level floor and the car loaded as you would normally use it --- ie driver onboard.
Camber is easy you can do with a digital spirit level or clinometer.
Simple way to adjust the toe is use a Gunson Trakrite
Sorry I should have said its the bottom ball joint I replaced. The 2 bolt Austin maxi one.
Providing the wishbone was properly designed for the maxi balljoint (i.e. aligns the balljoint around it's circumference rather than just relying on the bolts) then there should be negligible change in suspension geometry. Was the old worn just worn, or had it been bent?
The boot had just perished however i changed the whole thing but something deffinetly is not right since I've done it I'll try get a photo later but basically the cyclone wing on the side I've changed is rotated about 2 inches further round the wheel than the other since I've done it
Did you take the wing off to help with space to replace the ball joint, and if so did you put it back on as taken off?

Actually I've just been looking over photos of when I purchased the car and it's hard to tell but I think it's always been like that I've just not noticed until now.
