Escort quick rack

Hi Guys,

What's the ratio on a standard escort steering rack, and what is a good ratio for a quick rack if i'm going to change?

I'm seeing loads of 2.9, 2.4, 2.2

Just after some opinions!

Cheers,
Andy

IIRC it's 3.5ish standard, I had 2.4 which was good for road and some track use, some say 2.2 is a bit quick for road use(but you would get used to it I suppose,), a friend had a 1.7 for track only

I have a 2.9 rack in my car which I think is quick enough for the road especially when used with a smallish steering wheel

Standard is 3.5. I had a 2.9 initially on my Fury but after 2 years switched to a 2.4. The 2.9 was fine in normal road use but the 2.4 is much better, especially on track or twisty roads. Much prefer the 2.4.

Beware of some 2.9 racks; Apparently there are some that are 3.5 ratio gears but with lock stops reducing the movement to 2.9. I checked mine and it was a true 2.9 but trust the source of the info so there must be some out there.
