new prop
dblissett - 27/9/04 at 08:48 PM

as i have a very good understanding of what sort of damage a prop shaft can do
i want to buy a ballanced one from some one i can trust
so where is the best place to buy one and how much is the norm its for my 442 type 9 one end and sierra output flange the other
cheers dave

JoelP - 27/9/04 at 08:54 PM

just over £100 balanced and guarenteed is a ball park figure. Where in the country are you? someone will know a local place depending on where you are.

dblissett - 27/9/04 at 09:03 PM

that seems like a good deal to keep my legs straight! i am in nottingham
may be i am paranoid but its the only thing i wont mess with
cheers dave

http://www.propshaft.co.uk/

this was where i went in bradford. Twas about £130 inc vat, simple UJ at each end, tell them the length and fittings, collect in a few days. All good! must be places nearer than that though.

got my propshaft made by Commercial Propshaft Services
Phoned on the Monday, paid by card, approx. £115, delivered by carrier Thursday

locoboy - 28/9/04 at 10:05 AM

They must have whacked the price up when you siad its to fit on the end of a Hayabusa prop adapter

I'm in nottingham I went to PROPSHAFT TECHNOLOGY in rotherham. It took 20 mins to get there. It cost £80 and was done for the next day. very good service and quality.

Let me know if you want there number and I'll sort it out for you. If you find it hard to collect it, they do come down to nottingham most fridays.

My prop arrived from Autoprop Tuesday. Looks great. Really lovely looking construction.

Somehow feels like I'm a step forward even though I only bought something!

James

stephen_gusterson - 7/10/04 at 09:26 AM

Is it all shiny and manageable James?

tosses hair back, misses completely, picks it up and runs out.

James - 7/10/04 at 09:53 AM

Shiny, manageable and with all the amino acids put right back in!

Because I'm worth it!

i fitted mine tonight and found its to big in diameter at the yokes
it is catching my gear lever extension
may be i should of bought the 150 hp one
this kind of thing used to upset me but now i am quite used to it
its all part of building
i hope it will be worth driving after all this
so i have deceided to say in and wash my hair tonight
dave

dblissett - 18/10/04 at 07:59 PM

just a quick note to say thanks to propshaft tecnology
they have replaced the larger 350hp prop for the standard 150hp one free of charge
i was exspeting the old you kit car people dont know what you want etc etc
instead they couldent of been more helpful it was the remote gear lever that was catching on the yokes
fitted the new one no problems
cheers dave
