how does the mk 3 striker with chevette uprights and outboard front end compare to the in-board models in terms of handling?
Hi
Nowt in it either way I would say - if ultimate speed is your aim.
The normal Mk2 is easier to get the set up sorted, as there's loads of them about so you've got a much broader spread of experience to work
from, there's very few Mk3's left in serious competition. The one in My avatar is a Mk3 and we got it going pretty well with a few tweaks,
though in 8 years of use don't think we saw another Mk3 at a venue, but came across a good few Mk2's
However if it's going to mostly see a road it's a totally different question..
A Mk2 with IRS would be, IMHO, a much better bet than the Mk3 (with it's live axle) as it'll be much easier to get the combination of
reasonable ride and reasonable handling out of the former than the latter I very much suspect.
mine!!
almost defiantly not, but its the best one i have ever owned
as above. general thoughts are for on track handling then a rear irs mk2 with choice changes.
regarding differences for better engine choices, track or auto solo, road use and other parameters; i dont know.
How many cars have beat you? ! I would think tyres would play a bigger part than the car in most cases unless you really are an undiscovered
Schumacher, as I am!
