What is this in my diff?

Hi all,

I have a Sierra LSD in bits and I am wondering what a certain part is/does.

The parts in question are a pair of small ball bearings located inside the yoke of the diff.

My first thoughts are they are little one way valves for filling the viscous coupling, if anyone can shed some light on this that would be great.

Cheers Tilly

Ball bearings are often used to blank off holes in this kind of application, they just get hammered in. Quite likely those holes where to inject the silicone fluid for the diff originally.
