I'm in the middle of converting another Mx5 to V6 power , and it turning into a bit of a restoration project
Its fitted with a nice set of adjustable Ohlins shocks - which work fine , but a good look over before re-fitting found the alloy spring seat on on to
be badly corroded (its just a machined bit of ally , no problem to make a new one
)
Problem is - the nut securing the top mount was badly corroded , and on removal it snapped off
Good news is its a separate part , screwed to the
top of the damper rod , so not terminal.......
But - where can I get a replacement ?
For the best price on Öhlins spares try Clarence Bell at http://www.plrsuspension.com/
If you want a spring seat and it's an M52 X 1.50 I can help you..

Thanks - I'll bung him a mail later - meanwhile , heres the offending shocks.....
The spring seats arent threaded , they just press on - so should be easy to re-produce . Not so easy is the split bump-stop rubber and perished
boots.....

Clarence will have the bumpstops. Failing that I have 20mm bumpstops for 16mm rods. You can use them singly or in pairs. As for the boots I ca't see any in the pics?
I've still had no reply from `Clarence'...............and I really need to get these back together
Heres another picture - of the gaiters and knackered bumpstop .
The bumpstops are 38mm long if that helps .
Any coil over bump stops will do the trick, doesn't have to be ohlins originals does it?
Cheers

It doesn't have to be Ohlins - but I cant find anything the same size anywhere - biggest problem is these have 12.5mm damper rods , while 14 / 16 mm seems to be the norm .
ProTech 12mm bumpstops will go on easy. I've squeezed them onto 16mm rods in the past.
