Pretty sure I know the answer but thought I would check... I have drilled and grooved front disks and when I press the brake pedal the pads seem to
make a noise which based on the machining on the disc is probably expected.... Am I to be concerned?

A description of the noise might help...
Difficult to explain... pads on a smooth disc make no noise... It sounds like a cyclic ticking noise but only when the pedal is pressed. I suspect it
is where the pads are transitioning over the grooves in the disc....
Dave B
i believe this is just the drilled discs, mine do the same...
google "woodpecker brakes"
On my classic I usually put pads in with a tad of copper slip grease on where the edge of the bad makes contact with the caliper. Not recommended on cars with ABS but it does stop the chattering noises from pads in calipers and less chance of pads seizing in too....
normal noise caused by the groves, if you don't want the noise go for solid or drilled only next time.
