I thought they went out of production years ago, so I can take it that the "new"ones that a guy on ebay is selling are well out of date????

They were replaced by the 048 well over 10 years ago.

The seller should be able to give you the code for the manufacture date. It next to the DOT ref

That shows you how to decode it (providing the tyre was made after 2000).

Yes they still do make A008's for Minis (if you can find them). But they are not A008R's just standard A008's. Slightly different pattern, totally different rubber and construction.

When I was racing many a new starter made the mistake of buying A008's simply because they were 1/2 the price and looked similar then had to go out and buy the A008R's before the second meeting.
