I've heard talk of the use of capri axles on locosts due to an increase in strength over the escort english axle, but which ones and how much
stronger are they?
The question isnt really locost related, more a question of what swaps are viable into a capri without loads of work!
Atlas axles can be configured to take hundreds of BHP (commensurate torque), just depends how deep your pockets are and the requirement you have?
I mean standard axles which would be under a capri anyway, not the axle case with several grands worth of bits added :p
Are they all atlas, or only the more powerful models? What will a standard atlas take? I suspect 200bhp in a tin top will be a bit much for an
english?

If you fit a Capri rear axle to a Locost, be prepared to buy new, wider rear wings. The Capri axle is approx 2" wider than the Escort version.

However you can buy shortened rear atlas axles, or baby atlas as they are known.
A large percentage of Capris came with English axles.
