Just wondering if anybody else has used a solid mounted centre bearing on there 2 piece props before.

The one I have at the moment is moulded in rubber but as I'm trying to fit an electric reverse, I think the shaft from the engine to centre bearing will need to be solid.

My car has a live axle so the reverse motor needs to be on that first shaft.

How have others done it?

i think most now use an electric system with a cog/wheel sandwiched between the diff flange and propshaft.
i have 2 for sale which are from a radical clubsport if any use for you? may need a few mods to fit but itll save you a packet in the end! cheers

I have a gear and motor already but thank you for offering to help.

I had looked at fitting the gear between the diff/prop flange and mount the motor on the axle but because the nose of the diff travels up and down just inside the chassis tunnel I'd need to do a lot of altering to make it fit

between the sprocket adaptor and front prop then if theres room! think caterham fit theres there! then fabricate a bracket to mount the motor?

No room there either on a Honda blackbird. The prop bearing is pretty solid with the rubber in it maybe I should try it with the original bearing first and if it slips out of mesh I'll have to put o solid one.
