Just want to know what power my escort axle will be able to take before it goes bang ?
any ideas ?
I think Jon Ison or Hicost are best able to answer this one, but I have heard that they twist the half shafts before the diff gives up.
It would be the torque, not the power that would stress the axle, but a much lighter chassis and a corresponding ability to spin the rear wheels would
transfer the stress to the tyres rather than the diff - I stand to be corrected, but thats the way I see it
in standard form 150bhp seems to be a rule of thumb thats often quoted. How true this is..... no idea, is it based on escorts or sevens, again no idea!
I think it will also depend on how you treat it too...
