i got some used sierra xr4x4i rear end bits and bobs the other day and on both of my rear hubs there is an alloy wedge shape shim or spacer stuck on
the back anyone know what thay are?
the guy was local ish and had a pritty tooled up xr that was killed by tin worm come the end. he had all sorts of fancy bits and bobs for sale so im
thinking thease are non std.
caterham did some tapered shims to alter toe on the dedion axle which used ford hubs iirc

nope that not it
its like a laser cut bit of alloy plate cut to fit and the milled at a slight angle
looks like alot for tracking or toe so im thinking it is to ajust or correct cambre.
if they are what i have, then they correct toe and camber, when you run the suspension lower than uncle henry intended
They're commonly called "camber shims" - aftermarkets bits to reduce rear camber on Sierra donor items.
Both RHOCaR (Robin Hood Owners Club) & FSOC (Sierra Owners Club) members have them for sale
HTH
ah so might be useful to someone here then?
anyone with a sierra rear beam....
they make a lot of diffence
Yep sound like camber shims. About £30 new.
Do they really make a big difference on a light kit car?
On a lardy Sierra they do,as when you boot them the diff/shell squats and pulls the rear wheels into massive camber.
Take a look at a Cosworth launching from behind!
they do when the rear end is already running a couple of inches or so lower than it should in the sierra......
its in permanent squat
