Hi
Do 1.9" shocks have the same damping characteristics as 2.25"?
Their quite a bit lighter
Adrian
Springs don't really have damping charicteristics, they're rated according to there stiffness eg.160 pounds per inch - the load required to
compress the spring by one inch, and so a 1.9 spring rated at 160/inch is the same as a 2.25 spring rated at 160/inch, the only difference is the
diameter, which obviously needs to match the spring seats on your chosen shock.
You can't swap spring sizes on the same shock, so your choice of spring depends on the shock you choose.

Yes. Although it all depends on what money you spend as to what quality you get as usual.
2.25" springs are better than 1.9" springs. They are less likely to bend, although on a locost they are so short that it probably will make little difference

Hi
Thanks for the replies
Chrisg, i was talking about shocks not springs
The shocks in question are GAZ, the 1.9" ones are cheaper, just woundered why
