Sierra Front Hub Grease Caps - doh!
kingster996 - 7/4/14 at 09:04 PM

Been a right fekin muppet this evening - managed to bu99er up one of the bearing grease/dust caps on my front hubs during my refurbing process.

Seems like my thought along the lines of 'if in doubt use a bigger hammer' when it failed to shift, was not such a good idea!

Anyone got one spare as I can't seem to find any on flea bay etc?

The next one is going to be removed with great care now I realise just how soft they are!

Ta
Chris

thanks Adrian, I had spotted their offering but they look very different? Maybe they are Ok but would prefer to try and get some that match the originals if I can.

Found one but it is in Germany, quite different to kit spares version.

the german one looks right to me - i got some like that from a ford main dealer a while back

Just rang a local dealer, with a part number from German site - he said "part number matches a grease cap, but nobody has them any more".

I guess the dodgy looking GBS ones might have to do!

Kitspares mentions that Ford dont do them anymore. It seems theyve got some one to manufacturer a much more simple style one.

Yeah - looks like they will have to do.

One thing is for sure, I'll be a bit more careful with items that are hard to shift and 'look' tough due to amount of rust covering them! If it had been one of my motorbike components I'd never have treated it like that - what was I thinking... (inserts embarrassed smiley thing)
