Best place for new bits
timwest167 - 8/11/04 at 11:30 AM

Hi all,

I've just cleaned up my front hubs, uprights, etc. I need some new grease seals, brake disk retaining pins, split pins etc. Where is the best place to get this sort of stuff? As they're cortina parts do Ford still do them?

Thanks

Tim

the last place i would go is ford to be honest - they charge you through the roof!!
i get my stuff from a tiny old fasioned garage not far from my place.
an old guy runs it, and knows exactly where everything is in the shop and charges reasonable prices.

Brakes International at www.brakesint.co.uk are the best I've found pricewise.

I found all of the parts I needed to complete the refurb of my Cortina calipers & front uprights either from Brakes International or Halfrauds - they had a couple of bargains.

But, I cannot find replacement grease seals for the front bearings? I was that desparate, I even went to Ford, who could not get them.
Where have you guys sourced these from?

Rob.

Is that Chinese seafood? I bought new bearing kits for the front uprights and the seals came with them. Hardly worth scrounging round as the complete set was only about £12 per side.
