Just wondering if anyone knows the weight differences in these tyres in a 185/60/13 or thereabouts?
I have looked all over Google and can't find a decent amount of info on their weights.
The information I have is:
R888 in 185/60/13 =7.7 or 7.9kg
CR500 in 185/60/13 = 5.6 kg
avon ACB10 = 6.1 kg
Yoko AO32 = 7.3 kg
Regards
Hugh
Damn, at 2.3kgs per corner I will be going for CR500's when my R888's are knackered.
Thanks Hugh.

Choice should depend on what you
use them for (road, track etc) not just weight. Most say the R888's are better for a mix of road and track use than CR500. The CR500 seem to wear
quickly when they get hot i.e. on track.....lots of Caterhams come with CR500 and they then switch to A048 for track days which must say somthing.quote:

I wouldn't just go on weight! I know its obvious but your tyres are your only contact between car and roadChoice should depend on what you use them for (road, track etc) not just weight. I have only ever used A539, A032 and R888 on my Striker though and thats the order I rate them in. I did have some used CR500 but never got around to trying them and have now sold the wheels they were on....sort of kicking myself now for not at least trying them on the road first and getting a fill for the difference but its cold and wet :p
I suspect if you already have R888 you will be disappointed with CR500.
Maybe JeffW has a weight for the ZZR as he uses them?
