Gotta get myself a master cylinder - any recommendations? How about the pushrod into it. Can these be made from a piece of ordinary rod, or do you have to get the specific one? Most cars seems to have big servo units, so presumably you have to make your own? I have the clevis pin from my mirca pedals...
you can use the push rod that went into the servo, assuming you havnt binned it,make sure it is a good fit in the master,ie not going to fall out,run it in a tube to make sure it dosnt
Thanks, I did bin the entire Cortina brake master cylinder set-up, so I'll have to find another...
might have one kicking around, ill have a look for ya
Cheers mate - gonna be at Box Hill for sure next Sunday - as we're off to Richmond after for family lunch. Can u wait for disk till then, or do you still want it posted. BTW there's nothin special about them, just .8mm stainless cutting disks, but I'll happily send u a couple...
Jasper,
If it's of any use, what I did (using the original Sierra m/cyl / servo) is as follows:
Removed m/cyl from servo and dismantled servo completely. There were two rods in unit, one from pedal into servo, one from servo to m/cyl.
With my pedal box and m/cyl in place (ensuring pedal in correct position for brake light switch), I took a piece of wire put it through hole in
pedal, and into m/cyl, and marked off the length. I then took the two original rods and cut, shortened and welded them to req'd length.
It seems to have worked and I have the correct ends going into correct parts.
Hope this helps
