So its from the end of the CV joint on a Sierra Lobro Driveshaft bolt on hub. Mine has a split in it some how and is chucking grease out. I can't
find one for love nor money on its own, only with the CV joint.
Has anyone replaced just the boot/metal cap before? If so where the hell did you find them?
I think its one of these: http://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/ford-sierra-cosworth-4wd-rear-drive-shaft-cv-joint-boot-kit-100mm/
From what i can see its called a Protective Cap, Ford number 1495775 or 1505915.

Thanks

Where is the split? could it not be welded/brazed?
Its on the flange, its where its previously been hit with a cutting disc removing a seized bolt and has corroded through. Welding it is not really an option as its super thin and pretty corroded already.
They come with the CV joint kit http://www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk/ford-sierra-constant-velocity-cv-joint-boot-kit-100mm-brand-new/
I may have a couple of used ones. Will check condition.
